no. ive said this multiple times. there are 3-4 different realtime maps for the ecu to pull from at any given time. it takes the info from the IAT and MAF sensors and choses the right realtime map to run. you dont run injectors past 85% duty cycle and you tune the basemap properly and you only need one tune. anyone that has to go back for retunes depending on weather isnt getting a good tune to begin with.
But whats the reasoning for even tuning during the winter if you more concerned about how the car runs during the summer? Unless you run your car down ski slopes its not going to make a difference. And to be honest, your shit blow up so why are you giving advice in the first place?
ok first off, after the built shortblock my car was tuned PROPERLY and did not require a retune due to any weather issues. it ran just as good in july as it did in january. i just had to make sure i watched the boost as my car was using a MBC, not the stock boost control system. i ran her @ 22-23psi all day every day and the motor ran fantastic right up to the time shit caught fire (which wasnt a tune issue, just a bad PS line leak)
it blew up the first time from a fucking horriffic tune. not to mention the block was probably compromised from negligence of the previous owner.
as far as when to get it tuned, the season doesnt matter in the least. if you have the money in january, do it then. maybe its his only vehicle and he’s adding something that would change the way the vehicle runs… (bigger turbo, injectors, etc) there are zero drawbacks. the fact that he owns a subaru ej25 means it will probably crack the cyl #4 ringlands on the piston anyways so a built block will be in his future no matter what. its what makes a subaru, a subaru.
If he plans to opensource tune his rsti it wont be able to do that. This is one feature i love about kpro. I havent had a knock or hit lean cut yet, and hopefully i wont. The ability to adjust itself based on external temperature is an amazing feature if you set it up right.
you are flat out WRONG. :facepalm dont spout shit about something you know nothing about.
