Gin Gin.

Two words: Ming Teh. Once you go there, everything else just doesn’t measure up.

I love chicken feet!! Duck feet is even better

the ginger chicken over rice on the chinese menu was a staple favorite of mine… it was pretty good considering the lack of good chinese food… that’s what i guess toronto was for

the best chinese food in nyc, imo, isn’t even in chinatown… all the good places seem to be in flushing, queens

Soo true!!! East for Dim Sum and Joe’s Shanghai for the soup dumplings… Soooo many good places in Flushing.

Edit: It’s mad cheep to eat there as well.

Yup, been to both… I prefer Ocean Jewel Seafood in flushing for dim sum… it’s beyond packed on weekends… but it’s soooooooo good… the shrimp dumplings… omg

The one on 39th Ave? We used to go to that one but it seemed to be going down the hill. Thats why we hit up East now.

Bout to go get some chinese in NYC today…

used go gin gin alot until the price went up considerably. it averages around $8 with drink now, which it’s pretty pricy for takeouts.

yup, that’s the one… really? i’ve tried a lot of places and i like ocean jewel the best… maybe it’s because i’m partial to the cute chinese hostesses and their oolong tea

i haven’t been to east in a very long time, maybe i’ll give them another try soon

I used to live on emerson and when gin gin first opened they canvased the neighboorhood and went door to door with flyers, i was mowing the lawn and some asian came up and simply said" Gin Gin… goo foo" my wife and i still laugh about it to this day. Food was good but i havent been there in like 8-9 years

Where did it move to?

I usually eat at China Wok on GI.
$5 for veg. lo mein, fried rice, hot-n-sour soup and a can of pepsi

or The Asian buffet for $6 with a water.

Flushing is considered one of the Chinatowns. Its actually bigger than the one in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The reason the food is better is because its mostly Cantonese people… and they know how to get busy with the wok. I was there last weekend for a wedding.

yup yup. Actually, back in the 80’s… even up till the early 90’s… flushing was mostly Korean… but since then, the chinese have totally taken over the area

chinatown in manhattan is too touristy and overpriced, just like everything else in manhattan

i like the chinatown in toronto… what’s that mall up there? i cant remember the name…

I’m still holding out for the day someone in a Chinese restaurant speaks English I can fully understand.

what does that have to do with anything? how many languages do you speak?

Three. Fluently? One. But it’s also the native language of the country I do business in.

It’s still heavy Korean. My GF lives on 34th Ave over there so I know the area pretty well… I love the random stores there, like the scuba shop on Union. lol* Do they give dive lessons in Flushing bay?? lol that would be so gross

Pacific Mall and I think the food in Chintown up in T.O is much better. Even my asian friends agree on that one…

:roll2:

What’s different about them? It’s just weird that every other type of restaurant is usually staffed by native speakers but those, never.

I guess it still is… around Union… and going north and east towards Bayside… but still… not like it used to be… especially roosevelt ave and main st. intersections up to kissena blvd

ahh yes… flushing bay… yes, that “wonderful” smell everytime i drive past laguardia…

Pacific Mall and I think the food in Chintown up in T.O is much better. Even my asian friends agree on that one…

Pacific Mall! Yes,… haha… I remember going up there to eat chinese food and buy a modded PS2

There was this dim sum place on spadina ave, pretty big place… 2nd floor… can’t remember the name…

[QUOTE=ghost;1448407]yup yup. Actually, back in the 80’s… even up till the early 90’s… flushing was mostly Korean… but since then, the chinese have totally taken over the area

The Chinese are taking over all the burroughs. Brooklyn Chinatown is huge now… it must cover 25+ blocks.

Speaking of Koreans, I went to a Korean bar in Midtown called Crazy About Chicken and had the best wings ever! Anyway I tried SoJu (spelling) and got pretty fucked up on a few bottles. Anyone ever try it before?
