GM People (Slowmarro?) - Dash and Radio Lights Went Out?

02 Yukon XL 2500 SLT. Dash and radio lights went out this morning. Everything works as far as I can tell just no light. Radio lights flickered a few times when I started it the second time. Also, there’s no more dinging when you open the door to let you know the headlights are on.

Ideas? Heard of this? Good GM forums I can try to search on (Google was little help)?

Some guy in a Yahoo Q&A thing recommended that the OP clean connectors in/around the rear tailgate. Something about them getting wet. It rained a lot last night and iced up…

Before anyone says anything, this truck is still way better than my old God forsaken Ford.

oh fuckin god lolol . it could be a few diff things man lol . seriously it can be . start by checkin acc fuses under the hood and by th edriver door . make sure those are good . try wiggling the key and see if that helps seein as ign switches are real common . the other thing and its highly possible is when the trucks left the factory right in front of u on he bottom of the windshield didnt get urathaned . therefore when it rains snows and so on water and shit could get in and wreack havoc on the elec system behind the dash " i know its all there " look under dash and see if ya see any water staining above the pedal assembly and in that general area or the elec boxes

what about the light sensor on the dash??? i know alot of vehicles now have a light sensor that turns the dash lights into night mode (makes them darker)…its prolly a long shot but??..i know i had a pair of sunglasses slide over the sensor in my truck and i cudn’t figure out why the lights were so dim…( dim but not off, only looked off b/c the setting was on low, i like my gauges dim @ night)

prob just a fuse. sometimes one of the pins break off that hold in the fuse from people checking them popping in and out. if thats the case just solder some conductive material to the fuse to make it thicker so it keeps the connection. i could be wrong but i believe the buzzer and dash lights are on the same circuit.

what trim level is the radio in the truck. I took a quick look in SI, but need that info to know which wirring diagram to look at.

the radio’s internal light is also famous for just taking a shit…

like john said, could be alot of things. Best thing to do is start easy, and work your way up. Its always what you dont think it is.
