Mint…
NO WAY WOWWWWW.
I love the Grand Nationals! Is this yours? Brown people don’t deserve a car like this!
very mint
The word is the new owner wants to daily drive it :ugh:
(I got the pics from another forum and that’s what the original poster said)
DD it? no phucking way, that would be silly, there isnt even 8000 miles on it.
Lol, try again. Under 800 Miles.
Truely amazing cars, one of the best american cars ever made.
This one is reaching a “priceless” stature, if he DD’s this he deserves to diaf, I dont care how much money he has.
where was this thing found?
oh my mistake. 800 wow that’s even better!
me personally there is no point to buy a car so it can seat in the garage doing nothing and of course pantaloons has to just post something just like on very other thread that is on this forum
Whats with them Jap-crap tires on this shit, didn’t we bomb them in Pearl Harbor?
So weird how this 3.8L turbo car that was supposed to be special has around the same horsepower as the Camry and 0-60 times as the Accord coupe both of which are NA and less disp.
it was twenty years ago!! emissions and engine technology have come a long way since then
think about what kind of hp #s and 0-60 times the camry and accord were doing in 1987 =)
hell, in 87 if a japanese car had 100 hp that was a lot. okok so you had turbos… the supra and 300zx… they each did ~200hp. this thing did 300. its really not that bad.
My 87 had 130hp, and wicked fuel economy to boot, out of a 2L
Ya Mike, I get it - technology advances.
I’m pointing out its trippy to the see the king of the hill at the time with 276hp runnin 0-60 in almost 6 seconds…which is family car standards today.
yeah, i hear ya
270hp accord… WTF
Um, I bet “your” camry doens’t have 360 ft. lbs. of torque, stock… let alone run a 13.4 e.t.
Don’t forget that this car wasn’t just idolized for it’s stock performance…
also the fact that it was one of the most under rated cars ever produced, faster than the vette of that era… i wouldnt really know … didnt work at a shop that specialized in them or anything LOL
i do understand what u mean though,i guess by todays standards its pretty -not so fast
Hmm I pretty sure I said same “horsepower” ratings as todays “Camry” (and Altima Coupe) no mention of torque there Rich. Accord Coupe runs sub 6s and like 14.0 flat yet its less displacement and is NA?! You get what I’m saying right?
And we all know what GNs (or any turbo car) can do with mods…I have GT-R that came with 276 stock too remember.
ON DAY ONE GOD SAID “LET THERE BE SPEED POWER AND GRACE”
HE THEN WHENT ON TO CREATED:
“THE 1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL GNX”
When you look in your rear view mirror you see black death coming for you, all you see is black darkness nipping on your rear bumper, you try to run from it but it just keep getting closer and then you hear what death sounds like, it’s the howling of a spooling GNX turbo.
I will own a GN one day. It has been my dream car for as long as I could remember. And to think I almost had one. I remember in 1987 being at CITY Buick Pontiac Cadillac (Lawrence and Victoria park) with my step father, he was looking to buy a new car he was looking at a Buick Grand National for some stupid reason he bought a 1987 Buick Lesabre T-type. WTF?.. No wonder my mom divorced his ass, what a fuckhead, what was he thinking?
 You’re right, you didn’t mention torque… Not like I really care, but it should be analysed. Dollar for Dollar, we both know the GN has more straight line potential… (notice I only mentioned straight line)
Altima coupe 3.5SE and the Camry SE with the 3.5L V6…
The Camry makes 248 lb.-ft. at 4600 RPM
The Altima makes 258 @ 4400
I do think torque is part of the equation and it should be pointed out that the GN has over 100 lb.-ft on each car at lower RPMs at that.
Comparing a GNX to a altima/camry is quite surprising as the HP numbers are damn close but neither car will ever be a GNX.
