1987 Buick Grand National 3.8L V6 Turbo, 73,000 original miles mint condition. This was one of the most underated vehicles by GM. Althoe 1987 was the last year they manufactured this vehicle it was still the fastest production car ever made up to 1991 when GM introduced the Corvette ZR1. These cars are so fast it’s unreal and they are the best sleepers! You will never guess how fast they really are by looking at them. Pure sleeper!
Im just trying to get it with in my price range, wish me luck everyone. [-o<

If I get this car my SR20DET plans will have to wait another year so there is good news and bad news.

The bad news is I will not get an SR20DET for my 240sx for at least another year, the good news is a Grand National can eat a SR20DET.

The bad news is the Grand National doesn’t handle anywhere near as good as a 240sx and it can not drift. The good news is it’s one of the best 1/4 mile cars and it is not hard at all to get over 500 horse power out of them.

Okay Im getting too ahead of my self, I guess I will se what happens over the next few days, I got a lot of thinking to do.

drool
One of my favorite domestics.

that looks brand spankin new!

BUY IT!!

it cant eat all sr20s

GT

That car looks immaculate. I would go GNX, the SR can wait

Not exactly my http://senhoradolago.blogs.sapo.pt/arquivo/cup%20of%20tea.jpg

But it’s a nice car and it seems to be in really great shape. Best of luck with the purchase, I think you’ll be very happy with it, you’ve been looking for this car for quite awhile. I know just how I felt when I finally bought the 240.

Who says?

I’m sure you can make it drift, John.

Sweet ride man, I have always loved those, a friend of my dads has had a couple, one real and one replica. Stinkin fast!

Good luck man.

Theo

Hey man.

Well you know my views on domestic’s but, I know how badly you wanted one of these and you know my wife is backing your choice for this car  .

If you want it, go get it brother.

Take care.

Easy 8)

Do you mean by GM? Even then I’d say it would have a tough time running against a 396 Camaro or an LS-6 Chevelle from '69 and '70 respectively. Plus, you’re forgetting its badder brother, the GNX
Don’t get me wrong though, it’s a wicked purchase- esp that one which looks to be in incredible condition. Keep us updated!

wat did it run stock 1/4 mile?

13.2 quarter mile time STOCK!!! Biotch!!!

Fastest Production Car To Date in '91.

That’s it!

Theo

GTR breaks into the 12’s stock.

What’s your point?

(low 13’s consistantly but if you don’t care about the clutch it can hit a 12.9 if you know how to drive it.)

It’s not a GNX.

While I had my Mustang 5.0L, the GN was the car I truly wanted to get
one day. The thing I hated most about it is that it didn’t come in 5-spd.

240hp, 320lb/ft I believe is the power rating on these things. And it’s
eazy to get these things to put down some hardcore power.

Too much smack talk about who’s car is faster. Just take it out to a track
and let the slip do all the talking.

Sorry, that was more directed at the sceptics, not you.

my bad, i thought the last production runs of the GN’s were all GNX’s my mistake, sweet car none the less

it suits you perfectly.

those cars actually candle amazing , who would have thought a car designed for nascar and put into production so it could race cant handle as good as a 240sx,

the car was banned from nascar cuz the motors made too much power and they outlawed turbos from the race series

u have a good time gettign 500 horsepower out of the thing, its not as easy as u think, but it can be done, but the motor wont do it without main caps and a girdle, power plate on the intake is definately needed the rear two cylinders tend to lean out, the power plate lets the air be distributed evently so u dont melt pistons, u wanna run 12’s, 11’s? ur gonna need a higher stall torque converter too!

and for the dumbshit whos wished they came in 5 speed , ur a fucking idiot, u want a car with a 3800T in it that has a 5 speed go buy the TT/A, funny thing there almost a second slower in the quarter mile, but hey i guess u knew that ,

John good choice on the GN , if need anystuff for it lemme know , my freind makes main caps and girdle for the 3800, also he makes the power plate , well their shop specializes in grand nationals, lemme know ill make sure u get taken care of real good,

oh ya just to let u know John, their really fun in the quarter mile, but the real fun happens on the highway, if u want some good literature on the GN, Turbo T, T-Type , GNX and the other T-6’s , go look at chapters , i forget the name but its got the big T-6 symbol on the front of it ,

Great car man , do it up, and they do handle very well, good luck bro

Who you calling a dumbshit and idiot? :squint:

IIRC Road and Track got the TypeX GN to run a 13.8 1/4, the std GN was floating around 14.4 out of the box. I took a stock GN by a fender with a stock SR so the mid 14’s seem pretty well on the button for the car since the stock Silvia does low 14’s/high 13’s. Overall a nice buy. Bring that dirty bitch out to a lapping day
