rarest car to wear the grand national badge is the 82 nascar commemorative car
the rares turbo’d GN was in 84 with only 2,000 produced
rarest sport coupe 82 produced is correct with 2,022 being made[i had one my first car][have pics][no bsing]
quickest non gnx was not the turbo t
it was actually Regal Turbo T WE4 [was all black, had the lightweight turbo t package, lighter wheels aluminum rear drums and aluminum bumper supports]quickest american car 0-60 back in 87
there was a few front drive Rivieras produced
wheels 14x7
where did the name Grand National come from? [hint^]
i would respectfully disagree with a few answers, i did hear about the riveras but never saw pic of said car. obviously is they made 20 or so turbo GN’s in 82, that would be the rarest. WE4 were highly optioned cars. they were too heavy to be the fastest. most had power windows and such. the turbo t had the same wheels. But like i said b4 Cutlass are my specialty.

BANG FOR THE BUCK WINNER
there was also a very special model called the regal turbo t we4. the allblack
lightweight turbo t package had the look of the gn, but without the extra heft.
besides having gas shocks, quickration power steering, and usual list of power
and convenience equipment, the we4 also had the turbo t’s lighter cast aluminmun
wheels, aluminum rear brake drums and aluminum bumper supports. the we4
was an odd byproduct of the epa’s mandater for the bulk fo a cars build of a
a car’s build run to fall within the car’s prescribed weight class[called capacity
constraint] with the projected sales of the heavier gn being so high[over
the allowed limit of 33 percent of total turbo regal sales], heavy fines could
only be avoided if a lightweight turbo regal was produced in sufficient numberrs
t o offset the numbr of gns…thus was born the we4
the allblack we4 turbo t was lighter in weight than the gn and was, theoretically.
the quickest of the nongnx turbo regals.
[the we4 was “flat out, the hottest
piece fo domestic machinery you can buy” according to to cars illustratred magazine]
i used to do alot of research on this sick ass cars [one day again ill own another one]

dude you act like i don’t know what a WE4 was, it was a GN without the seats and wheels basically… a base turbo regal without power options would be lighter than anything. That “bad to the bone” comercial was more of a regionaly shown comercial. No one in these parts remembers it. I think it was like a west cost comercial
