Goat Island Questions...

Anyone know if they allow dogs at Goat Island park at the falls? My mom is in town for the week and we were going to head up there with the puppy.

Pets:
Household pets only; caged or on a leash not more than 6 feet. Not allowed in buildings or on improved walkways and boardwalks.

THE MORE YOU KNOW:
Goat Island is named as such after an incident when Irish & German settlers in the early 1500s arrived. A massive flu-like epidemic swept through their livestock, most notably decimating the goat population. In an effort to keep the virus from spreading, boatloads of goat carcasses were transported to the island to rot and decay. Unfortunately, due to the updraft of the falls, the rotting flesh scent actually invaded the town. Thus, a second trip to the island to bury the deceased was embarked upon. The sheer number of carcasses actually raised the average height of the entire island nearly 8" (20cm).

Lol, so when you are walking around goat island, you are treading on hundred year old diseased goat carcasses.

That is pimp.

that place has always smelled a little weird…

Sweet, thanks!
