Going to Las Vegas

Going out first week of February…

Anything I should do while I’m out there?

Anything I shouldn’t do?

Anything good to see or places to eat, best gambling etc etc…

Do:
Go to In n Out Burger
Win Money
Helicopter Ride into Grand Canyon
eat: The buffett at the Wyn is amazing, i have heard others are quite delicious as well. That is the only one I have been to.

Don’t:
Lose Money
Get Robbed by a hooker

If your gonna gamble learn a bit about it first. Look for tables with low minimums. Excaliber is cheap. For some reason I always have good luck at NYNY. I recomend craps.

Ride the Big Shot at the top of the Stratosphere.

Eat at Nobu in the Hard Rock (if you can get in). I got the $100 option. Yeah. It was expensive, but they bring you 7 courses of chef’s choice and it’s more of an experience that a meal. (There is also an $80 and $120 option.)

I took a tour of the Hoover dam in 2000. Not sure if you can still tour that bottom part, but that was pretty cool.

definitely learn craps… At Casino Royale they have 3 dollar minimums. You can play for a long time get hammered and even win some money!

in Ceasars there was a brazilian BBQ that was awesome. i want to go back there for that.

Yeah I don’t know shit about Craps… Looks like I will have some studying to do at work for a few weeks.

I also heard about the hooker trading cards. I’m gonna see if I can collect the set while I’m out there!

Go to the bunny ranch?

rent a Harley & goto red rock canyon & hoover dam (do hoover dam tour - pretty neat)
go up in the eifel tower in the evening, to watch a fountain show at the bellagio - awesome view of the city
LV Motor Speedway is only about 15 minutes from the city.
play cards - Blackjack, 3 card poker, etc
Slot machines suck
go up on top of Stratosphere (ride the rides if you want…I wanted to, until I was up there)
Roller coaster at New York New York
awesome restaurant in MGM Grand, can’t remember the name.
the Deli in the Wynn has great sandwiches.

everyone knows that cheap gambling is downtown and not on the strip. if you are a beatles fan you should undoubtedly go see love at the mirage… for real. go there anyway to check out the new layout… the wynn is by far the nicest casino, as far as luxury… try to check out the pool area.

play games against the house… my favorite is let it ride… peoplea re more friendly at the tables and you aren’t fucking up other peoples hands when you’re a noob

have run

bunny ranch

me and the wifey just got back last week. we stayed at mandalay bay. went to shark reef, which is in the hotel. pretty fuckin cool. we went to the hoover dam and saw cirque du soleil mystere.

x2 this show was amazing.

i had the buffet at the belagio and it was awesome as well. Stayed at new york, new york. So most of my gambling was done there and MGM i came back a winner so cant complain. Rented a car and drove out to hoover dam, it was pretty cool to see, but i wont do it again. I would just check out as much shit as possible though. all the different hotels

rent a car and drive to laughlin nv for a day… it’s on the boarder of az on the colorado river… we rented a jetski and hung out there for most of an afternoon… definitely worth it… and good cheap gambling for practice. plus there’s an in-out burger right there!

In-out burger… mmmmm makes the plane ticket price all worth it! As far as gambling goes… craps and poker is the way to go.

I turned $40 at wheeling into $340 the other night in about 20 min on the craps table, the guy next to me turned his $300 into $2100 in 20 min. Definatly a good game… yes you can loose fast too! Look for a hot table, people screaming, etc…

Have a good time!

All of this stuff mentioned is good stuff.

MGM has a seafood buffet IIRC on Sunday? I hear it’s great, never made it to that one. Wynn’s buffet is incredible.

If you want a low-key off-strip night in a place where locals hang out, head over to Sam’s Town. Very laid back place. Friday night poker tourney is great, I entered for $50/$25 rebuy and won the first tourney for $1400, bought into the second one and placed in the top ten.

Hooker trading cards are hilarious…I’ve heard of guys walking around with garbage bags getting cards en-masse.

Laughlin is a great little place for the beginner gambling if you don’t mind riding down to the bowels of southern NV near Davis dam. The jet ski thing sounds like a great idea.

Nobu is hyper-expensive, so it’s better to spend your winnings on this meal than out-of-pocket it. I think the bowels of the Dam are off limits now.

Samba. And it rocks.

Big Cash Games ($5-$10NL or higher) > Tournaments

[QUOTE=JackdUp;645575] I think the bowels of the Dam are off limits now.
