Use a 4000grit sand paper soak it in water and sand away very lightly
while constantly drizzeling water over the spot you are sanding. Then
take a polishing compound like a meguires Step 1 and rub away at it…
It will come out looking like real gold when your done.
I don’t remember Sasha if you saw my new silvia hood before I wetsanded it.
But it went from stock 15 year old junkyard paint to fresh from the showroom floor goodness.
The problem with DIY jobs on these valve covers are the small corners
and crannies. I guess if you take your time, you can achieve pretty good
results. I tried my best, but you can see in mine, the corners and stuff
didn’t turn out that great.
the biggest problem I had with mine was inside the small “A” in the word “Cam” i couldn’t find anything that would sand in thereand get it smooth, and the paint didnt seem to go down there either. Its annoying
I’ll consider giving her a wetsand but I’m not too worried about it.
