Fun time flipping between Fox, CNN and MSNBC until almost midnight last night.
You should probably get out more.
Came in from the garage around 11 and checked it out for a few min but was too tired to pay attention. Should see some change for sure.
it was election night over there right?
wha happun?
In a nutshell? Obama’s agenda cost a lot of Democrats their jobs.
Republicans took over control of the senate, picked up enough house seats to have the largest margin in the house since WWII, and won several governor races in blue states including Obama’s home state of Illinois.
So did something good happen?
i don’t follow politics enough, is coumo gone?
I was flipping between SOA and the election coverage. Not surprising, but they both gave the same vibe.
Cuomo*
lol
I believe someone said that was the first incumbent governor of the sitting presidents home state to lose since the late 1800’s.
my favorite one is that the governor elect in Arkansas is one of the GOP house members that served as a prosecutor in the house during the Clinton impeachment…guess those Clinton coattails have been cut off pretty well in Arkansas
MSNBC was having a melt down
I thought Chris Matthews was going to punch Rachel Maddow in the face for constantly talking over him
… wait until the end…
Fixed
Cuomo is still in…NYSux
People are so blind. Oh look at my rebate checks I got from our Gov. Oh look at all the money he gave buffalo.
Hey dummys, its your money hes “giving” back to you! Do people honestly think it comes out of his bank account?!
It even says in the rebate checks that “this money” was in the previous budget! Oh thanks for over charging me, making money on my money and giving back a fraction. BTW, now that elections are over, could you raise the price of gas a little bit…thx
Gun owners and patriots have no one but themselves to blame for not getting to the polls.
Absolutely disgusting.
Hey, I was there. I cant stand it when I hear “my vote doesnt count so why bother” bla bla bla
I know
Any “change” I’m sure wont be beneficial. http://www.oftwominds.com/blognov14/what-changed11-14.html worth a quick read.
explain yourself
“Corporate Profits at record highs” - … based on? Are we lumping in Apple to skew the numbers with their $600 profit on every $800 iPhone?
“Adding 200,000 jobs / unemployment below 6%” - Yeah, adding low-wage part time jobs instead of full time middle class jobs. “Yay! We added 200,000 fry cooks this month!” And yeah, the unemployment rate goes down when those people who are looking for middle class jobs are forced to take lesser paying & more readily available fry cook jobs. It’s called underemployment. And look at the U6 not the U3 and you’ll get a better idea of what’s going on.
In fact we’re so limited on full time middle class jobs that people who are stuck in low wage part time jobs can’t move up. Instead of focusing on building an environment where better jobs can be created, politicians are focusing on increasing the minimum wage. Jimmy the fry cook is going to stay a fry cook and make a little more money instead of using the fry cook position as a stepping stone to getting a better / higher paying job as is the point of his entry level position to begin with.
“Stock market is strong / interests rates astonishingly low / the wealthy are making astonishing amounts of money” - The Fed has been artificially keeping interest rates low for years. Why? They’re afraid of another recession, still. I wonder why that is. And when interest rates are low, where do you put your money if you’re trying to make more of it? The stock market. And who has more of their wealth in investments and stocks? The wealthy.
“Gas prices falling / oil production increasing / oil imports declining” - On private land, because of private ventures despite attempts by government to limit their exploration and progress.
“Brought soldiers home from Iraq” - Yeah, without a status of forces agreement. And what happened? ISIS decided to jump the border because they figured without us there who was going to stop them? The Iraqi army certainly didn’t. And what are we doing now? Sending troops… err… “advisers” back there and doing air strikes.
“Leading the world / respected internationally” - Really? Russia respects us? China views us as leaders? Name one international dilemma that we’ve been able to influence in a positive way? And while our human presence in Muslim countries has decreased, take a look at how our drone presence has increased. It’s all in the marketing.
The issues have more depth to them than some headline-only reading ignoramus is going to grasp
