Good Radar Detector

i called escort today and talked to there customer service about my service required indicator that my 8500 was showing. they gave me a service # that you have to wright on the box when you mail it in. They told me for $59 they will put a new antenna, mother board, led screan in it and give me new power cable and suction cups. on top of that they give you a 6month warranty.

so ur getting a new unit in the old case for 59 bucks? DOPE!

yeah i was pretty happy with that, so yeah im gonna do it. shit for $59 you cant go wrong am i right???

completely right, sir

I personally prefer not to look at them at all and have mine out of the way entirely.

Looks shouldn’t be a concern when shopping for something that detects radar signals being thrown at you.

It’s a tool that has one job to do and it does it well. That’s like saying “I know this open end wrench will get the bolt out, but I’m not sure about the design of it being open end, so I’ll struggle with the ratchet in the mean time.”

:crazy

Like I said…the difference in distance between the top three is negligible. You’ll be perfectly fine with either of the top 3. Since that is the case, wouldn’t you want one that also looked good if you could? I know I would. The rest of my interior looks pretty nice with the LED conversion, Navi, etc. Why would I ruin it with this boxy looking detector?

To each his own.

No matter which of the three you get, you’ll be fine.

Because any detector that’s visible, looks out of place in the car, it’s not better then a GPS slapped onto the windshield.

And when they are hidden, it doesn’t matter what they look like. So why not have the best performing one when you can’t see them anyway.

It’s a pet peeve of mine when I see a car with a visible detector.

I’m still not exactly sure yet which one I will go with. I like the idea of the arrows on the v1 but the 9500 having gps seems like a good feature as well. I’m going to have to make up my mind and order one soon.

Do hard wire kits unplug?

Like if I got a hard wire kit for the detector of my choosing, would I still be able to remove the detector and use the factory supplied plug to take it to another car? Or is hardwiring semi permanent?

my friend’s had his escort for al ong time, ive had my valentine for a while, ill just say that if u pick one of those you wont be wrong. i wanted the arrows, so i got the V1. if ur 50/50 on either, just flip for it.

^ agree

the V1 is like that. its hardwired in my car with what looks like a phone cord. that unplugs. you take hte unit with the long coiled cord with the cigarette plug bit to another car and ur good to go.

^ Same with the Escort models

Good. That’s the biggest thing I was worried about because I do intend to hard wire once I finally get around to getting a detector.

Best radar detector get married and have her bitch at you from the passenger seat that your going tooo fast guarentee you will never get another ticket. However you may want to back over your own head with the car (dont ask how I know)

^ahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah

lol that was funny.

get a scrambler, from rockymountain. my buddy has one, and he never got a ticket with it. they go for 150

those are VERY illegal and if u get busted with one?

Active ones are illigal.

Passive ones are legal and are a placebo of sorts.
