Good Transmission Repair Shop?

My car recently started leaking transmission fluid at a pretty alarming rate where the transmission meets the motor. I went to AAMCO because i didn’t know where else to go and he said that a bushing or some part within the transmission (begins with an s i an’t remember but its like a circular piece of plastic) has gone bad. He said it will be about 1300 to repair, has to remove transmission and replace what needs to be fixed. Does anyone have any other suggestions on where i should bring my car? or any experience with the AAMCO by Salvatores? This is the last thing i need to worry about with my sister being in the hospital and leaving the country soon. I don’t mind paying the 1300, but if there is somewhere cheaper that does a good job i will bring it there. Any suggestions would be great.

What kind of car? Begins with an “s”, do you mean a seal?

It’s a 2001 Lexus es300 and no it wasn’t a seal he said it was something else, just looking online im starting to believe its the input shaft seal, te guy didn’t mention it but I guess it’s a common problem with es’s. My neighbor has had good luck with continental transmissions in Cheektowaga on union so I may end up going there over AAMCO, they also seem to be cheaper

Continental in West Seneca does real good work also, fair priced as well.

I think ill just stick with Continental, i’ve heard horror stories about AAMCO, and while each one is different i haven’t heard anything bad about continental

AA…beep beep MCO. Had that jingle in my head for years.

Ha reminds me of a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where that jingle plays on the radio and larry david thinks its someone honking at him which ends up ruining his friends bel air

Good luck with continental. They put a transmission in my brothers stealth a few years back and left some of the bolts that hold the tranny to the motor out.

As long as some r there f it. American transmission on ken more ave is pretty good
