It is grinding 2nd and 3rd, the clutch was just replaced and the throw is very short. I’m thinking the hydraulics might be screwed up a bit and or the syncros need to be done. All the gears are there and they go in without issue if you rev match downshift.
True lol, but again there aren’t as many T-6060’s with 100K miles on them as there are t-56’s.
Not giving excuses, but 3900lbs plus some miles = syncro wear. I’m not saying the t-6060 isn’t better, it is but for the majority I feel the t-56 is a fine transmission.
The other day i was at a red light in the gto, it was about to turn green so i went to put it in 1st, felt like it didnt go in all the way which somtimes happens, so i put it in another gear and tried to go back to first and still no go but light was green, i thought well maybe it was in… But nope lol someone was driving by with his windows down and heard the grind and they laughed and pointed… How embarrassing lol, kinda pissed me off!
I think the hydralics are on their way out, and the clutch grabs a little high, so might be doing those items and hipefully that will take care of it.
Nice pick up, i was debating getting on of those as well but i found the gto and it was priced to sell
Nice pickup. These are a super fun, classy DD. Were you able to get service records to see if the rear diff was ever fixed? The stock Getrag in these liked to go boom any time you tried to lay down any power.
