Got a problem with the 240!

So i’ve noticed the last few days my hood has been up on the drivers side… so tonight i decided to pop the hood to see whats up. What I found shocked me…

This is where the body meets the shock tower under my hood. Apparently the reason the hood was bent was because the top bolts were hitting the hood…

Attached this picture (not of my car) to show exactly which weld broke.

My question is how much of a fix would this be. Is it even worth it? Ive owned the car since august and It seems like one thing after another keeps going wrong.

Has anyone ever had this problem or can point me in a right direction to who I could take this to and get it fixed?

Just take this as an opportunity to cut out and run a tube between the struts and the front frame rails, or mini tub them

i’ve fixed this before on 240’s. i used a port-a-power to pull everything back down into place, then stich welded that section. i can fix it if your not looking to make a huge project of it

I wish I saw this earlier! I just had it towed to a local collision. They are going to replace both shock towers for me. Worst Case is it will run me 7-800 but it will be worth it

doesnt seem worth it to me. just have them weld the old one back in, throw some paint on it.
