I really like well done graffiti. Do you know of any “hot spots” in pittsburgh area? I’m pretty new to getting around in Pennsylvania so if you do know of something…a cross street would be helpful. I just like the art of it all. Thanks.
The East Busway…runs from East Libert’s Penn Circle South all the way into town.
they do alot of murals in pittsburgh and surrounding areas…usually under bridges on the walls and stuff. there is a few in oakland, wilkinsburg, etc
The East Busway has some really good graffiti.
You’re a little too late to ask, but the Armstrong Cork Building in the Strip District had some of the best work I have ever seen. It has since been turned into apartments/lofts. There is also a bit in the South Side along the tracks.
get some pics and post them up when u go
look atop of the buildings in the southside.
i hate taggers and will lose my mind if i ever catch one near my grandma’s house in oakland. graffiti can be ok… but you need to be productive with it.
Not in pittsburgh, but check out that link. I used to sit and watch artists go nuts on this wall on the beach. Definitely some cool stuff
yes taggers suck. i like the more artistic stuff that typically doesnt’ mark turf.
South Side near the tracks x2. Used to be a really good piece there that was at least 100’ long.

I have a ton of others too. I used to be into it alot but have since moved onto my own garage and sketchbooks.
peep this guys work from Italy-PEETAhttp://www.peeta.net/
look at the walls section.
As for local, take a look at the Jail Trail (runs inbetween the opposing sides of the parkway east) accessible from Second Ave at the end of the Hot Metal Bridge. Loads of people tag up those walls, but there is a 100’ section protected by the city due to the skill demonstrated by those artists. Some are fucking killer.
Banksy is a gutsy stencil artist with some very original stuff. Nothing local, but interesting nonetheless.
go find “Mook” and follow him around for a few days.
theres a big abonded building on the strip in larwensville…i cant remember the name of the building but that place is nothing but tags n murals!
Good find. He has some amazing work.
Plenty of graffiti
