Gran Turismo 5 General Discussion Thread

You know damn well every GT5 fanboi will be saying “Hell fucking yes man! This time’s the time for sure!”

… As said about 3-4 other times before this.

Awesomeeeeeee!
Just preordered a copy from Game Stop, now I have to find my PS3 in the basement buried under shit somewhere.

So true. :rofl

Oh you trolls… I do believe the only official release that was pushed back was 11/2… Everything else was speculation.

I preorder’d.

I BELIEVE.

Best part is, I know EXACTLY where that jpg came from :rofl

lol…Im hopefully going to grab it Wednesday after work…I thought I would practice today…haha

so how is the damage in the game? can we please total a car in a game as easily as in real life for once? I hate hitting a wall at 900mph and seeing the hood barely bent up

For as long as it took for this game to come out we should be able to roll the car and light it on fire next to the track.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

that has more to do with the car manufacture’s then anything else, so probably not.

That video that was posted earlier in the thread, the one car gets hit from the side and spins into a wall, the door flies off and other shenanigans ensue.

ya i know i was posting a sarcastic post if anything. I know the struggle with damage and licensing

yeah, so does need for shit hot poo. Its the same damage everytime, what matters is real true dynamic realtime damage modeling.

You see a few games have this, most popular and easiest to think of would be the GTA 4 series… dynamic realtime physics for damage modeling, but would be even better if they would deform easier…

other games like Mercbenz world racing engine based games, invictus developed games and live for speed have dynamic damage physics.

But none are really realistic enough, the cars need to deform EASIER.

While licensing may be an obstacle on the bigger brand series like forza / grand turismo… its certinely not for smaller games like live for speed.

Are you threating me? :ahh

I dont even know man, I just watched the vidya.

lol

I am almost positive that it is going to be dynamic in the sense that if you crash, your car will perform different, like power loss, the suspension will fuck up, shit like that…

Damage increases as your skill level does. The full damage model is unlocked at level 20/40 and damage will affect the car’s performance.

And yes, cars are flippable.

Exactry.

In other words crash damages are not “scripted”, every crash is unique to the extend of how dynamically the code will allow.

Soooo like forza which has been out for like 2 years now

anyone know if gamestop will be open at midnight? I may only have a few hours to play before I leave for thanksgiving
