just a quick update, i apologize that the bulk of this shipment is taking a while.
there are two shipments of mine being ‘investigated’ by customs at the moment. hopefully i’ll have them ready for pickup by the end of the week.
Alright, so apparently this tire thing is becoming a mini business for me. Now that I can order single sets at a time I don’t really need to do the group buy scenario thing anymore with the exception of just getting the word out so for now, probably for the remainder of the winter months I’m going to resort to doing weekly orders every sunday.
I’ve been ordering an average of around 3 sets of tires every week and to cut costs I’m going to let them orders accumulate until the weekend each week and combine them all in to a single shipment. It will not only cut down on shipping costs, but also brokerage costs and above all it makes it easier for me to manage one larger shipment per week than 3+ small shipments a week.
Next season I might do something a little bit more formal, maybe setup a bi-weekly group buy just for SON or something of the sort. I’m still not really doing this as a business because as soon as I do all of a sudden the operating costs are going to up which means so are the prices.
Anyway, mostly just thinking out loud here so you all know whats going on - I did the math just now and realized I’d sold over 300 tires and/or wheels to SON over the past 5 months and thought that it was pretty badass - no complaints so far although a few mixups in the shipments which have all been dealt with and I think everyone is satisfied.
I think even some tire shops probably dont move this kind of volume haha.
