I swapped over a B18C1 into my CRX, wire harness and all. Everything runs great except for the high idle. It will drop done and sit at 600 RPM every once in a while, but for the most part it stays at 1500 RPM. So i don’t want to adjust the idle screw. It will hop a little bit but not bad. I took the fast idle and the EGR Valves out, cleaned and looked them over. Not sure if one or both are not working or what. Don’t have the money to start buying things hoping it will fix the problem. I did bypass the heater core and now I’m thinking there might not be enough pressure to get the right amount of coolant into those valves to opperate correctly. Was thinking of putting a valve in the bypass line and closing it, or capping the lines in and out of the motor, to see if that makes any changes. If anyone has any ideas as what i might be able to do to fix this problem, or what i might be doing wrong, it would be nice!
thanks
egr valve? gsr does not have an egr valve
clean and adjust the fitv (under tb) and clean the iacv (on back of the intake manifold)
i would burp your coolant to make sure there arent any air bubbles which would also cause your problems
IACV is the one i was calling the egr valve, sorry dude. I cleaned both, and i’ll have to try burping the coolant system, I usaully do but you never know. I’m currently running water only in the coolant system, not sure if that would cause any of the symptoms. Thanks for the help, I’ll post how it goes.
