gsr vs ls

alright guys im in the market to purchase a new trans so can someone please help me out and tell me the difference between a gsr trans and a ls trans

GSR is shorter.

go to www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears

lets put it this way, at 80mph you’ll be at 4k with the gsr and 3k with the ls. and the ls is typically cheaper

same thing that everyone else has said…gsr has shorter gearing. if you have any questions about integra’s, check out team-integra.net which should be able to answer just about everything. the articles sections has tons of good info.

was it necessary to start a new thread for this after you had already started one asking questions about different transmissions?

do you plan on keeping it Na or do you have future plans with it? do you daily drive it? worry about mileage?

yeah i plan on keeping it NA, not really sure about future mainly im going for speed so its kinda between the gsr or b16a transunless you think something else would work.

check to see if you fall out of vtec when shifting.

i know thats the problem with accord trannys vs./ prelude trannys
it probably does since the ls is a no-vtec motor

I know with the b16 tranny i didnt I actually thought about that last night though I think i definitly would with the ls trans and maybe with the gsr trans

anyone out there with a b16 rockin an integra trans?

i have a GSR trans on a B16. IMO, its the best possible choice for a street car. sure, B16 trans accellerates faster, LS gets better mileage, GSR is a fair compromise of the two until you open the case

in a perfect world, honda would have given us a transmission with a GSR or B16 1-4, LS 5th, ITR final. would rip like hell for accelleration, but still cruise 70mph at 3400ish rpm

anything you would want to know is in here

I agree with the assessment here. The GSR is the best compromise for a stock trans. If you rebuild (I’d get the limitied slip diff) and change the final and individual ratios to whatever you want, keeping in mind engine rev limiter and effective engine operating range for your selections. You can really dial it in nicely if you got the $$$ to rebuild.
