So recently ive been browsing the market for a new turbo for my sr. I was planing on running a GT2871 but what does everyone think about the 2876? I haven’t really heard that much about the 2876 so hopefully someone will have some input on this.
Heres the specs sheets from garrett
GT2876r with 0.86 A/R turbine housing
GT2871r w/ 0.64 A/R turbine
Depends on what your intent is for the car homie.
76 gets you very little over the 71. you bump to a to4e style front end, so its physically bigger, but doesnt yeild much cfm. i’d go 71 fo sho
Sack up and get the 30-R.
76 is harder to install. go with the 71 with the .86 housing
the 30 would be sick but i agree the 76 won’t make a huge difference over the 71 and its def a good turbo for the street. it spools quick and is capable of making pretty decent power.
If your handing out money for the top-mount and the lines etc. Im all for it.
the 2860 is a mismatched turbo, don’t buy it…while the 2871 is a very nice turbo that has done over 400whp with lots of boost on 1.8L that I’ve seen
