My 05 has 245/45-17s. I have access to a set of 235/55-17s cheap.
You think I’ll have any issues other than speedo off by 3mph or so ?
I was thinking strut rub but these tires are taller and narrower.
Thoughts ?
Stock is 25.7 tall, new would be 27.2 3.5 MPH difference
There is very little room between the tread and the front strut, both on the inside and the top. 3/4" is going to tough, even with a slightly narrower tire.
Go look at the clearance you have between the inside top of the tire and the curved bottom of the front strut.
I’m no where near my car. Any idea measurement wise how much clearence there is ?
Not sure. It’s really raining here but if I go home for lunch I can put the car in the garage and take a look.
If my memory is right there isn’t 3/4’s of an inch, but maybe.
