They already have a lower N/A trim, they call it the G37. What I wanna see is a 6MT G37 with twin snails. Forget fancy awd systems, just good ol’ fashioned RWD, and a lotta power on tap.
Right now, they’re doing a fine job of competing for the lower-end of sport/luxury, and the really high end, but nothing really in the middle. The G37 is barely competitive against the 335i, and has absolutely nothing on the M3, RS4, IS-F, etc… A RWD TT version with say… 400hp/400tq would still not encroach on the GT-R, and comfortably spank the cars I listed.

I remember reading various articles on the g37 vs the 335i, from the impression that I got from these articles is that; yes the 335i is faster in pretty much everyway, but the performance is just marginally better, while the pricing the g37 beats it. So the question really begs, is it really worth paying so much more for just a marginal increase in performance?

As I recall, this was the sole reason why the g37 always came out on top of 335i. But I agree, they should come out with something to compete against the M3. However with the way economy is going nowadays, how feasiable is that? I’d say unlikely.
