I’m sure you all have cars that you like that you’re not very proud of having an interest in.
One of my less guilty (i.e. one that I’m not that embarassed to say that I like) are the Chrysler LH cars. You know, the big beastily sedans of the late 90s/early 2000s.
And the Buick Lucerne. Because it’s just so darn comfy. And the Olds Aurora (but then again, not that terrible). I’m still mourning the loss of Olds…
And then I have this thing for Chevy Trackers/Suzuki Vitaras. Mainly because we beat the shit out of my friend’s at her land and it has never left us stranded (which is more than can be said for the Built-Ford-Tough F150).
I thought of this when I saw a Suzuki X-90:
And I thought my lord those are really terrible. I had never noticed how bad they were. They’re worse than the Eagle Summit, Nissan Stanza Wagon or Ford Aerostar. To top it off it was this shade of purple, too. Then I thought, “Somebody must like one of these cars! They must hate life, but they like these cars!” So that’s where this thread came from…
I did the brakes on one of these. After I was done… I wasn’t sure if the brakes were good or not cause it was my first time driving it and my mind was not completely focused on how well it stopped. The owner said it was a world of difference. I liked it… it was silver, so a little less ugly, but a death trap for sure.
i know i know, but it was so relevant to this thread, and actually i drove one the other day, and it was pretty peppy. Not sure if it was a lumina or a monte.
I guess there aren’t too many cars that I’m not proud that I like. I like Toyota Corollas with the S-trim interior, both current gen and chevy-prizm gen. I’d love a Corolla XRS. They’re not exactly the coolest cars around. Haha then again I’m occassionally hesitant to admit that I really like my Jetta!
Yes, but there was no 1st gen W-Body Monte Carlo. So I’m assuming he meant the 1.5 gen W-Body where the Lumina and Monte shared the same general appearance.
