I know this applies to all internet purchases but some things i like to see/feel before i buy. Gun Center has costs associated with running a brick and mortar, employees, etc. I can’t imagine what their insurances are. I don’t fault them for being a little higher. What happens when you have a problem with your out of state gun? Buy socks and underwear online. BGC has been good to me. I’m sure others had theor own experiences. Weigh the pro’s / con’s.
I’ve only had one issue, and the outcome was the same as if I purchased from gun center. Regardless of where you purchase, a new gun carries the same warranty, and gets sent back to the same manufacturer. In fact, I’m comfortable saying the service buying from him far exceeds that provided by the gun center. And when I purchase a gun from my guy, I’m not purchasing from gunbroker and having him xfer to me. He orders direct from the manufacturer or from his distributor. Only real difference between him and bgc is he doesn’t have nearly the stock they do. There are a lot of small dealers like this around.
I will shop at gun center for a gun, see what I like, then call my guy as I’m leaving and have it in a few days for much, much less.
My issues with bgc go far beyond price. I find most of their sales people to be complete pricks, and have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about. Case in point, one guy was adamant that my top of the line Kimber couldn’t compare to a rock island :ham:

And to clarify, I’m not hating on bgc or anyone who shops there. I understand it’s more comfortable to deal with them for some people, I’m just pointing out that there are other options that just happen to make more sense to me personally.
And before I got into reloading, I’d always buy ammo there. Their prices are not bad at all on that.
I’ve bought from small dealers also. I think many people have one bad seed at certain places and it stays with them. Wish business owner knew how much it hurts them.
Also, for buying from reputable people within the gun community there are no issues of people being screwed over. When people are armed and the community is smaller there’s something to be said for common decency. I’ve have nothing but stellar interactions for the most part.
johnsons, gander mountain, etc have guns also.
I know what I want before I even walk in the door of the BGC. Case in point, went there yesterday and bought an H&K P30S V3 and a SigArms Mosquito (5in). They had them in stock, done outta there. Also, If I WANT something and my mind is made up, I’ll buy it. I’m not going to dick around with shopping around for it.
Sweet pay more for the same thing
Instant gratification.
So when you buy a car do you just pay MSRP on it too?
Maybe its just not worth his time to drive around wasting his time to save a little $$$.
When I went to BGC I got treated like if I was trying to spend $5k with 034 motorsports… understand?
That’s correct.

Heading there tomorrow.
They will have modern guns but i think the focus of that show is on the antique guns.
There’s a little bit of everything. I’m looking at picking up cheap cleaning supplies so I don’t have to pay for the extra shipping.
I would NEVER do business with the Buffalo Gun Center again.
In other news i went to the Hamburg gun show today with a friend so he could buy a rifle… And then i ended up going home with one. FML.
Psh, I hunt with my ruger 10/22
lol, not.
I was about to walk out with another AK variant today until the guy at the stand first yelled at me not to take the top cover off and then When I asked him to take it off for me so I could see the quality of this one he didn’t know how.
:fail: how can you not know how to get an ak dust cover off?
LOL my friend was looking at an AK and was going to buy it too until the guy gave him attitude, i wonder if it was the same person. I have no idea why but it seems a lot of people involved with the selling of guns have the attitude that they are doing you a huge favor by even talking to you.
Anyway, i walked out of the show with a Lee- Enfield. I have always wanted one and there was a 1918 B.S.A. that i just couldn’t walk away from. All #'s matching, non import marked, non rebuild. Picks off cans of tomato paste at 100 yards with the greatest of ease!
