It needs some glass to top it off. She’s a Rock River upper and lower, 2 stage trigger, free float barrel 20" stainless heavy barrel, super light weight quad rail tube and a Magpul PRS stock. I hope to take it out next week with my aimpoint and 3x magnifier just to see how it shoots.
Naked
I shoot targets better than pictures, I need some professional pictures of the toys one of these days.
how’s the magnifier/red dot combo? Always considered grabbing a magnifier for some extra zoomage but wasn’t sure if it made it difficult or just weird to look through
It works really good, on my carbine. It has a very short eye relief, and after getting used to it, is a nice toy. If your looking for a carbine optic, then do it. I can shoot 1 1/2 groups at 100 yards with it, but thats not impressive for .223. But being only 3x, its very limited. If you wana shoot 100+ yards you really need better glass. I am saving for a good Leupold tactical scope for the new toy, I want to see the prairie dogs shaking from fear at 300m.
Upper assembly $130
Free float quad rail $160
Barrel $280
Lower (including transfer fees) $195
Trigger $120
Stock (with tube and buffer) $285
Bolt carrier and bolt $130
Charging handle $20
Misc parts $40
Or 1,360 with no optics. Now this pricey, but remember, that its all hand picked parts, and just the stock and free float tube are almost 400 bucks in add ons. But they will easily shoot 3/4-1/2 moa. Which means at 100 yards, it will print holes that almost touch, if not touch. It was all assembled by yours truely.
Course, I hadn’t added it up till now, I try not to think about how much they cost.
I nailed a dime at 75 yards with a .22 mag and a 4x scope first shot. though man thats a nice custom riffle. The .223 is a nice accurate varmint round. I want to get aither a 30-06 or a .308. I don’t wanna just shoot varmints… I want their little heads to explode lmfao.
Yea, my next AR is going to be a AR-10. I have one going together now as a 6.8, but that will be the last of the small guns. I wanted my first varmint gun to be a .223, cause I can reload it for pennies.
The upper assembly is just the bare upper, with the dust cover and forward assist installed. That price is right off of the RRA web site. Its an assembly, but not with the bolt and all the other stuff.
