I “own” a .40 glock 23, put 100’s of rounds through it. I have also fired many rounds out of a .40 H&K USP.
I have to say, you just cant beat the lightness of the glock. It makes you much more accurate. Don’t need a lot of muscle to keep it on the bull. I didn’t look up the specs on weights, but the HK definatly feels much heavier.
The HK does have advantages tho… 1. Looks way cooler! 2. is dbl action, and has a half-cock drop button, so your greezy thumb doesnt make you look like a fool. (I put one into the ground at a range with a .38, boy did I feel silly…always keep it pointed down range.)
There is a torture test that these guys put a glock through somewhere on the web, I don’t have time to find it now, but its pretty amazing. they put 1000’s of rounds through it, pack it in a bucket of sand…mud…pack the gun with sand, dont clean it and fire more and more rounds…thing doesnt stop. Then put another gun through the same test and it fucks up non stop…keeps jammin. I believe the other gun was a 92F, but I’ll look it up later.
oh, and for cleaning! I have never cleaned an HK, but the glock is a breeeeze. You can field strip it, lay it out in pieces, and then put it all back together in under 45 seconds.
As far as shooting goes…I always did better with the glock, could be due to my experiance with it, but I have to say I like the way the glock sits in ur hand.
I’d like to own both, but if ur buying just one. My vote is on the Glock.
