cats out of the bag on the Z06… what did mallet do for it? I know the Z06 will have different hood, and bumpers, as the vette… trying to make it look different from a regular c6

I’m not sure what he did…My friend said it had some different body panels…the fenders were more flared. He didn’t say anything about the hood but he did say it is 500HP.
My friend also just bought a 2003 Cobra Engine and is going to try and put it in his BMW race car…along w/ a KB blower. Chuck was telling him he should go with a 372 big block instead:) He put the S54 M3 engine up for sale.

yeah i heard the body is sorta how the ZR1 was with a wider rear but more flared so the difference is visable. also, the hoodscoop. by the looks of the pic i posted, the front doesnt look to be styled much different. of course there will be brake ducts for the rear. i wish i had final word on targa or FRC, fast back or notch…as soon as i hear one ‘confirmed’ then new spy shots come up w/ the other. for what its worth, i havent seen any notchback photos yet…i hear its gonna be a FRC w/ a fast back.
ya the 500hp was confirmed by Bob Lutz in a press conference, saying it will weigh under 3000lbs, and put out about the same HP as an SRT-10.
He definitely said it will have VVT (Variable Valve Timing)… but be a 7.0L 427ci LS7 V8 3 Valve Engine, but retain being OHV.

with navigation right? a z06 is suppose to be liek the cobra R of vettes. a striped down race verson not some pansy ass luxury car. first year for the c5 oen was striped and cheaper then a base model vette

I dunno, from what I hear, the new Z06 is gonna be like the ZR-1 all over again… pricey option

i dont understand why it as it sits, weighs more than the current c5 Z06. maybe its still gonna have the nav system and all the luxury options. plus if it does get that 427, maybe that weighs more?? i dunno. that weight isnt confirmed either, but thats what has been flying around as ‘fact’ as of late. also, it was stated along w/ this info that the torque ratings will end up being 500, not 475. plus, ive heard that the price will be atleast over 65k…because loaded verts will basically run about 61k. whatever it ends up being, fuck that. cool car, but i dont have that much for a car. so ill just end up spending half of that and getting a 01-02 Z. good enough for me, and i like the c5 styling better anyway. but the c6 Z will be awesome

yeah i heard that it was under 3000 too. and that it was because they were gonna use an aluminum frame. but now i think that that isnt gonna happen, so thats why the weight is up over the c5 Z. but who knows
rumor is that gm is making a tt vette :x
