Well i figured why my headlights wouldn’t go down and all the weird right turn signal problems. I noticed that there was white smoke coming from my driver side wheel well yesterday and i looked in there and i saw this. By the way, i think this happened from the tire rubbing on my wheel well when i made right turns.
Anyone know what i can do? I don’t know if it’s possible to just buy that whole set of wires off someone’s part’s car but it seems like i won’t be able to tape it back up as some of the wires have already been worned down as you can see.
go through each wire individually and make sure u havent lost strands…if u have, then cut and carefully extend and re join each wire one by one…then solder, heat shrink and duct tape the hell out of it…
then, make sure u tuck it away neatly…And most important of all, get a new fender liner…MAKE SURE NO BARE WIRES ARE TOUCHING EACH OTHER !
as for replacing the wires, that harness runs from the drivers footwell all the way around the bumper and into the passenger footwell.
Basically what I did was;
-remove the inner fender well
-open up the harness (ALL OF IT, inside that wheel well)
-match wires that are broken, and splice in new wire WITH SHRINK WRAP
-tape it up real good
-I flipped that plastic cover over so the hole was hidden
-tape it up again
-tape it up again, with metallic muffler tape (the tire will slide off this better than the elec. tape)
-replace inner fender well
Ah i hope i can do it, although i’m hoping and i’m wondering if it’s possible to just get a new harness. But it doesn’t seem like it. I guess i’ll have to individually fix all those wires one by one… ahhh… what the hell was nissan thinking when they put the wires right there? Damn it. Was it his driver side one as well?
Its always the driver side theres nothing on the passenger side
both my white car and black car did this. S14’s are supposed to have a bit more space but obviously i was still too low and ruined that bitch too. Signal was styaing on and that sort of thing. It seems like the signal is the first wire that gets effed up haha
Anyways dude its not hard just make sure you mount that shit higher up
