Gyms with a Pool

I am going to start training for a sprint triathalon that im giong to do at the end of the year. so i need to start swimming again. I just called the YMCA on southwestern and its 47 bux a month (80 dollar registration fee…)… which is a LOT more then i was expecting to pay.

are there any other gyms in the area that have pools?

Im in Lancaster, so something close by would be preffered

BAC downtown…49 for 3/months waves reg fee…then 29.99 after the 3 month periods…Ballys on N. French (sucks)

How is the BAC downtown pool? i cant find much info on it at all…

i go to the YMCA, i am a swimmer, and i run round our hood, mainly down erie. Lancaster has a pool but it is only open in the summer

its actually really nice…5 lanes i think…sauna and steam room attached…pretty clean i like it

How crowded is it? if i go either Before 11 or after8pm?

i go at peak time right after work 5pm and if there are 3 people in the pool thats a lot

I go to the JCC in Amherst, (I know it’s not close to Lancaster, but) it’s a nice pool and they are remodeling the entire workout facility this year.

How about getting a pool for your living room???

I go tot he YMCA. If you have health incurance there is usually a discount. I pay 35 a month. The reason its kind of expensive is kuz they have the sauna and steam room and hottub as well. Plus 2 gyms.

i just did the BAC 3 month deal… if i use it enough ill sign up for the Ymca…

i didnt realize the BAZ pool was so small, but whatever

go take one class at ECC city and use the free gym/pool downtown?

I did the YMCA one on Southwestern when it first opened 7 or 8 years ago for what you are describing. Don’t do it. You’ll spend more time fighting with 80 year olds for a lane to swim in than actual time in the pool. I tried it for a year and realised there was no beter time of day to go and gave up. Now I want to move in with King to use his sweet indoor pool!! J/K

X…

i told you it was silly goose…to bad you go at night

I would go before work, but it doesnt look like the turner ramp validates between 9:15 and 3pm… is that correc?

Bump, Finished my triathalon this weekend… the BAC was too small to train for a half mile swim… doing 30 laps in the BAC pool at a time got lame and demotivated me to keep up on it… so needless to say i lost a bunch of time in the swim…

The YMCA is still WAY too expesnive for how far away it is…

What about the north tonawanda aquatic center? whats the deal with that? i cant find any info online

Are you UB alum? can’t remember…

But might want to make a call there

Yes i am a ub alum, do they have something??

They have fitness plans for alumni. Can’t recall the exact price but from what I remember it’s a pretty good deal.

Glad I checked this thread out … 27 a month including all fees … I might check this place out.
