That looks like 8K to me…on the kits i installed the light started to go blue at 8k. One companys 8K might be equilivent to another companys 10K…
so i was told it was 10k. im guesing 10k is really really blue. and 12k is straight purple?
they’re both straight garbage
ill keep repeating this… anything over 5000K is gay.
well, its not like i have to get 5000k hids just to get you to like it. my car the way i want it. thanks for the comments though.
i second that, anything over 5000k is too much. you wont be able to see $hit, all you see is a blue beam compare to the 4300-5300k is a white beam that you can use and wont get hassle by cops.
maybe its something about ontario and the cops?!? i live in winnipeg where the hasstle and trick ass cops are really really lazy, until you meet the grumpy ones.
Has a lot to do with you being a ricer and installing something unsafe in your car just because you like the ricer after effects.
The rules of HID:
HID gotta be in housings designed for HID. That only means an OEM retrofit. I sincerely doubt that $30 ebay housings will do anything even close to right. Go cut up a 3 series bimmer if you don’t want to be called a riceboy.
4300K --==> NOTHING <==-- else! Can’t overstate that one.
And if you wanna do something because “you like it” and you “don’t care what we think” then go cut your springs, and put blue lights all over your car (you kinda already got started on that one)
Thats alot of glare, get some shields or a proper hid setup.
You’re gonna blind alot of people with your current install.
like i’ve said, i like how it looks. what makes you think that i want to impress all of you? i put up pictures for a reason. not to get bashed on and tell me what you think of it. yeah, i know i am getting some projectors and some casper shields are coming, thus me caring for other people at least.

mmmmm blue lights. now please tell me to go jump off a bridge too and i might as well do it , im here to get some feedback not for you to bash. if you like don’t the lights, don’t bother reading the thread? easy as that.
6000k is the pimpest kelvan get those ones and they are not blue.
and solarian, i think you should get out more before you make such bold statements about HID’s
i have sheilds in a bosch housing and the cutoff is IDENTICAL to my halogens.
yeah, i got some casper shields from mskinny and hopefully they will help me out. and i’ll update the pictures again, although i was thinking of getting some oem style housing from acura, or bmw but have no clue where to start.
6000 is the worst, 3500 looks the best, everyone get 3500.
Okay, so let me get this straight… when you buy a motorset from Varun, you get:
Engine, tranny, ecu
All the hoses, connectors
piping, intercooler
graduate degree in optics <---- WTF??
Just because the cutoff looks fine, doesn’t mean the lighting IS fine. And it doesn’t mean you’re not blinding anyone. And it also doesn’t mean that your visibility is improved. With all of these kits, you have a lot of light output close to your car, blinding YOU, and making you believe you have better visibility, when in reality, you can’t see jack further on. But honestly, don’t take MY word for it, there are many people that have way more knowledge than me that have written many articles on the topic, and they all say that the ONLY way to have HIDs that:
Improve your visibility
Don’t blind other drivers on the road
then OEM retrofit is the way to go. Nobody has taken the time to do a proper analysis and design a lense that focuses HID lighting the way it should be for the aftermarket. Do NOT be fooled by this shit. If you KNOW better than to cut your springs, then you should know better than to do this. That’s why I said that earlier, if you “don’t care” what we think, then continue to do modifications that put you and other drivers in danger.
thanks but im a member of hidplanet and hidforum,
ive also done a s2000 projector retrofit in a integra before, but thanks for comming out.
since you seem to know everything why dont you come and look at my hid’s in a bosch housing with sheilds and tell me why the cutoff is perfect compaired to the halogens, and explain why i have no bleed above the cutoff and minimal glare.
how about you post pics of your amazing HID setup?
and yes i am aware my cutoff is obviously not as good housing designed for HID’s
I don’t have an HID system in my car, because it’s not a priority for me, I consider it a complete waste of money. And if you’re so sure of the quality of your HID system, why don’t you line it up with that Integra that you put the S2K projectors in and compare your illumination patterns.
the ilumination pattern is obviously not as good as i just stated in my previous post.
but compaired to halogens as i stated in my previous post aswell, they are identical however the HID’s have a higher intensity beam of light and light up the same objects halogens light up except with a stronger more intense.
now if you take that other guys unsheilded HID setup then i would agree with you 100%, however there are ways to make a non hid housing with a retrofit work decently well without blinding people.
Okay, that I can agree with. It’s way better than an unshielded setup, and acceptable in the case of a popup light S13, because it is kinda hard to retrofit projectors in there.
word.
scotty do you have the h4 hid kit with solenoid-actuated high beams?
