I still argue that I have the best power/$ AND power/weight
Power to weight is ricer talk. But, yea you have a point. I totally get what you are saying but I would never pay that much for a motor to get that power.
I was joking, you city folk are too serious
LOL @ “city folk”

There are deals out there bud, and i commonly see K20’s with Tranny’s for ~3k and you use the shittiest K20a2…why not use the K20/K24 with the TSX block and K20aR head? that would blow the fucking doors off a H2B. Oh and the 200chp wtf are you talking about? people get ~210whp out of STOCK motor K Swaps w/ i/h/e
A buddy of mine had a H23 blue top from the Euro-R accord with a ITR B series tranny, he now has a K swap :
Suck my fucking balls the Tranny plate is “~700” http://www.exospeed.com/category.php?id=384 there ya go bud 1500$
where’s the B Series tranny in that money equation?
Oh and here’s an H22a…
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30017 $1200 huh? :
H22 conversion harness? there’s another $240
(base h22a from hmotors) sell h22a tranny get bseries-$2200
evolution full h2b kit (tranny conversion, mounts, flywheel, etc)- $1600
Rywire conversion harness- $240
Header/Exhaust- $300-$1500
B Series Tranny- $500
Hondata S300 - $600
$5040 + labor w/ a motor that is 13 years old.
K20a w/ tranny w/ about 40k miles - 3500
mounts - 500
axles - 300
kpro - 1000
swap header - 250
Oh and if you want to upgrade to the SH or Euro-R motor, that could be an extra $1000-$1600 …
AND the K Series respond A LOT better to mods and tuning.
Kpro tune: $600
How about wiring?
and where are you finding that K20 for 35? The cheapest I see is 4k before shipping
not to mention you need specific parts such as a radiator that will fit…
k20 conversion harness- 300
someone to weld in radiator bracket to relocate radiator- free-$40
and hmotors has the k20a2 for 4000
my radiator was brand new and was like $50 and you don’t even need to get one, you just need to relocate, and K20a.org has a shitload of K series’ for ~3500. Oh and my car is running perfectly fine and has been for 8k miles on a home tune so the $600 is if you want it. Either way it’s going to be close to the same amount like i originally said and with the K series you’ll have a motor that is more responsive to mods and is a new era motor not some 13 year old motor.
wtf? you don’t need a hondata s300…
you then say 2200 for a complete h22 WITH tranny, and then 500 for a b series tranny…
Man, you’re just relentless… :stfu
I think they are similar enough in price if you look around for deals and provide a similar amount of “headaches” on the install to say that the k20 is the better value. This is simply due to the fact that the h2b does not have anywhere near the after market support or response to mods and tuning that the k20 has. The h2b is definitely cool, but I think unless you are able to get everything for cheap, then sourcing a k20 and the supporting parts is the way to go. Stock vs. stock I’m sure the h2b would hold its own against a k20 in the same car. Cliff do you have an h2b?
We’re talking about the H2B that you hail… What the fuck are you going to do with the H series tranny if you’re doing an H2B swap? read what i said Sell H TRANNY* buy B Series Tranny
I put the S300 because i included the Hondata in the K Swap list…
even if the h22 w/ b series tranny was 2200 altogether it would still be 4500 for the basic h22
h2b does not have anywhere near the market support as a k20?? There’s plenty of aftermarket support…
and no, I don’t. I’d prefer to have an h2b, but I don’t.
I know there is plenty, I’m just saying that the current market is leaning toward the K series, all the new parts, all the new technology, will be for the K series. It just makes power much easier than the h22. K Series motors/parts are only getting cheaper.
your still up to 6k.
just for shits and giggles lets take a look at what I spent:
$1k Benson block
$1k Crower head w/P&P
$600 forged pistons/rods
$800 manifold/dp
$300 exhaust
$400 ECtune/hardware
$250 injectors
$150 oil/coolant lines
$400 LSD
$1k BB garrett turbo
$1500 for misc fab work and parts
Total: $7,400 ALL included. With a GT30R or GT35R others have been pushing 500whp to 650whp
so 500/7400= .068hp per dollar in a 2100lbs car (taking the low HP number)
K20a: 220/6000=.037whp per dollar (ill be nice with the power numbers)
H2B: 200/4000= .05 whp per dollar
and again, i put down what I actually spent. Both of your hypothetical builds are missing miscellaneous odds and ends.
That’s true. But my original point was that the H2B is just as quick as the k20 and it’s still cheaper. stock for stock.
Yeah, but you’re the man
