I measured the stroke of my motor last night and find out I have a 390 instead of a 360. I’m guessing around 9.5:1 compression. I am curious to see how it runs once I get the 4 barrel intake and carb, cleaned up heads, and headers on.
I have a bore of 4.05" and stroke of 3.78". :woohoo:
I guess i need to stop putting in the el cheapo 87 octane gas before I melt the pistons. :damn:
It’s still torn apart so I don’t know. I do know it will be more expensive to fill up and I could sell the motor for more than i paid for the entire truck. It’s nice to find out you have something better than you thought.
I hope it runs a lot better with a new intake, carb, headers, and everything all cleaned up.
mine pings really bad when I get on it a little. If I just cruise around under 1500 rpm, it’s fine. I really do not know what the compression is, 9.5 was just a guess from what I have seen on the internet.
