I never really can figure out why so many come with one. Sure, make it an option, or maybe just on some really high end shit, but WTF, i’ve never, ever used it for any reason other than to fuck with people.
:omg, my radio keeps changing by that song you like all by itself!!!:
when i used to have a head unit with a remote i used it all the time because it came with a mounting bracket so you could mount it to your steering wheel.
never, i would use the remote for my xm commander because it has category buttons on it whereas the headunit for it does not,but i have since lost it, and then i never cared to buy another one
yup, as long as my arms are, when I was strapped in tight in the firebird I could not quite reach it (AKA shoulders planted in the seat due to belts) thus it came in useful then.
ok not only do i use my head unit remote but i also use my sirius remote as well. I only need the head unit one to do volume , sirius gets the brunt of my use to flip thru all the stations
I use it all the time. It keeps my faceplate clean and scratch free.
But I just put a new headunit in the Audi before winter, so I’m sure when I start driving it again that will change to never using the remote, 7in touch screen FTW.
in some cars, i could see using one. In my old GM trucks, the location for any aftermarket head unit was a really distant reach, so having one then would have been nice. As for now, with my stock radio, i am very content with my steering wheel controls. now, if only those could be used to somehow cycle though the CDs in the 6 CD changer…oh well cant ask for everything I guess.
