Have you ever used the remote for your car's head unit?

I never really can figure out why so many come with one. Sure, make it an option, or maybe just on some really high end shit, but WTF, i’ve never, ever used it for any reason other than to fuck with people.

:omg, my radio keeps changing by that song you like all by itself!!!:

poll coming…

I had it as a key chain for a while, but took it off recently because I never used it.

mine is in the glove compartment and i never use it

when i used to have a head unit with a remote i used it all the time because it came with a mounting bracket so you could mount it to your steering wheel.

mine sits right in front me of… but i never really use it

yes

never, i would use the remote for my xm commander because it has category buttons on it whereas the headunit for it does not,but i have since lost it, and then i never cared to buy another one

My remote is in the garage somewhere, and it’s still in its packaging.

:gotme:

leave it in the back seat and tell passangers they can select if they want, but yeah pretty much never use it

constantly.

remote controls are faaaar cheaper to replace when compared to a HU “faceplate” with worn out buttons/contacts.

yup, as long as my arms are, when I was strapped in tight in the firebird I could not quite reach it (AKA shoulders planted in the seat due to belts) thus it came in useful then.

I’ve used it a few times, but my passengers probably use the remote way more than I ever did.

ok not only do i use my head unit remote but i also use my sirius remote as well. I only need the head unit one to do volume , sirius gets the brunt of my use to flip thru all the stations

nope, i got 2 knobs and a little red line to tune my shit.

I use it all the time. It keeps my faceplate clean and scratch free.
But I just put a new headunit in the Audi before winter, so I’m sure when I start driving it again that will change to never using the remote, 7in touch screen FTW.

in some cars, i could see using one. In my old GM trucks, the location for any aftermarket head unit was a really distant reach, so having one then would have been nice. As for now, with my stock radio, i am very content with my steering wheel controls. now, if only those could be used to somehow cycle though the CDs in the 6 CD changer…oh well cant ask for everything I guess.

I cant live without it … the radio in my Caprice seems to be a mile away from me …

All my stangs were nice cause my right hand was always on the shifter and the radio was only fingertips away

my monte … the best soo far aftermarket deck and steering wheel controls are the greatest

i used it alot till the tool that cleaned my car threw it in a puddle

Back when I had a HU that had one, it never came out of the little bag it came in. Left it right in the box.

i always use mine
