He got rid of the SRT4 and bought what?!?!?!

Decided it was time to consolidate both my whips (SRT4 & Eddie Bauer Explorer) into something more practical, reliable and down right better.

2009 Toyota Highlander Sport

Every option available from Navi, 19" wheels, leather, back up camera, bluetooth, power rear hatch etc etc.

Based on the RX350 frame/drivetrain.

Silver w/ black guts.

I know its nothing too exciting as far as auto enthusiasts go, but I like it and its a super nice DD.

wow, i woulda figured something a bit more sporty. I still like though.

For the money, I could’ve purchased a lot of things. It really came down to reliability, financing and practicality in a vehicle that I’m going to own for 5+ years.

I’m sure I’ll end up in something else as a fun car, but for now until probably this time next year…this will do.

I tossed around Evo X’s, STI’s, an IS250 AWD, G37x and a new A4 as well as a couple other sedans. After realizing that I’d rather have a nicer SUV I took a huge liking to the new Q5, but wanted to really stay in the Toyota/Lexus family. I looked at RX350’s for a minute. I couldn’t justify spending the extra loot on the RX when the highlander is exactly the same truck except for sheet metal (I actually like the highlander front half a bit better).

Overall, I can’t complain.

Good stuff, Adam

My wife has the RX350 and has been very pleased with it. The Highlanders are great SUV’s. That 3.5L motor has some get up to it too.

My mom just took delivery of a brand new RX, nice car for her.
I drove an RX 400H for most of the winter, looked good in the GM lot.

I thought you were looking at a ISF?

does that have 3rd row seating? my wife and I are looking for something with 3rd row.

How many underage girls can this thing hold jebus…

3rd row is standard. Actually quite roomy, and the 2nd row can become captains chairs or a bench seat with the addition of a stow away seat. Electronic rear climate controls with about 8 vents just for the back passengers.

I stopped thinking about that a long time ago. Not really practical, and an insurance quote I received from my agent put that idea to sleep a while ago.

looks like a nice ve-hicle

so did u trade in the str4 and the explorer?

correct. both are gone as of tomorrow. :frowning:

momcars unite!

:meh: well srt=jailbait… suv=??? milfs?

Meh.

This is much more baller status than a yellow neon. :snky:

It’s actually a huge ploy to convince school officials that I’m their mother picking them up from school.

my wife has the the same highlander in grey. love it! decent gas milage and it has some pep.

I didn’t see that coming, but after driving quite a few highlanders in my day, they are a pretty nice vehicle.

just get your windows tinted :snky:

Meh, I could’ve pretty much purchased anything I wanted (based on the MSRP) but again…It came down to reliability, comfort, resale and staying in the Lexus/Toyota family. I was contemplating finding a 2008 model, but the navigation is garbage. For 2009 they are utilizing Lexus’ Generation 5 v.8 Navigation which is 100 times easier to use and much more user friendly.
