WEll I picked up my 240 on saturday…stock 92 hatch with 205xxx kms…So i get to drive it for like 15-20 mins and I’m hearing these noises coming from the motor when there is a load on it…so I glance down at the temp gauge and its showing normal temp…the noise starts getting louder so I figure I should pull over and check it out real quick…so i put it in neutral and begin to slow down to pull over and the car dies…when I pop the hood, steam just starts pouring out…anyway long story short I check the oil and its below the low line…check the coolant and there isn’t any!! so I go buy some oil and coolant…try to start it and it won’t start…it seems to be turning over real easily like there is no compression…so anyone have some insight on where to start looking for a problem?
I’d just buy a new motor. And I’m not joking. By the sounds of it, unless you’re planning on going KA-T, and building the motor, find a new one for under $500 and move on. I saw 2 while I was browsing today.
Ya thats what I was thinking today…guess I’ll just save some money for awhile and pick up another motor
get a dohc
it has a dohc already…i said stock 92 in the post…i’m assuming u were looking at my display name which i made when i had my first 240
is there white smoke coming out of the exhaust?
^ he cant start it
yeah she won’t start…i’m still just in the process of trying to save some money for a motor…but my bills keep getting in the way…but in the mean time i guess it gives me time to give some tlc to some other areas of the car…another quick question i have is how much does it cost roughly to rebuild the ka24de? bc i am thinking of turboing in the future so just checking my options
$1000-2500 atleast depending on what you do. If you want to go turbo get lower comp pistons, a cometic HG and stronger con rods. You’ll also need new cams and a better ecu, go JWT if you want to run a proper ka-t.
