I can adjust my headlights down manually and then go back into the car and push the button and they go up but wont go back down unless I go and adjust it manually again. Do I need new motors or could it be something else? I have checked the fuse under the dash and it is fine.
Did the previous owner install the sleepy eye mod?

If you like “double click” the headlight button really fast twice, does it go down a bit of the way and stop?
If so the previous owner has severed the motor wire(brown if I remember) by doing the cheap sleepy eye mod. You can fully pull the button out of the socket, and just resoder/tape the wire back together.
If that aint it, then I dunno.
I remember that mod soo many years ago on mark and andys old cars …hahahaah cut the wire and tap the button 
or just unplug them but they reset
I took the button off and it didnt look like the wire was cut.
I’m pretty sure it’s the headlight motor fuse(5 amp IIRC). It’s in the fusebox in the kick panel. It’s either burned out or someone removed it(another form of the sleepy eye mod).
