heel and toeing in the 240

I know heel-toe is used to rev match at high speeds on a track, but when your just normal daily driving, why do you use it?

if ur matching revs perfectly ur not only going to save the clutch, ur going to save the tranny aswell. When u rev match ur synchrnising the engine(flywheel) with the clutch(transmission) to make everything super smooth. When you dont rev match ur basically letting the clutch slip and have useless wear

the reason we use it everyday is so it become second nature. Why do proffessional racers practice everyday? or athletes practise everyday? So it becomes very natural to you. Almost like walking.

^^ yep

It definitely preserves the life of the synchros.

i cant heel and toe im a size nine but i’n practicing i accidently pressed on the gas instead of the brake.
oh and is heel and toe sound like , in initial D when the 86’s Engine died and the 2 RX7’s pulled up behind him those downshifts sounded sick

if you have problems with the carpet or other stuff try ptuting your foot higher on the brake pedal so when you rotate your heel it doesnt grab as much crap

slows donw the car while keepin revs up.

i roll and use my heal to hit the gas if your having trouble because you cant hit the gas just bend the gas pedal a bit toward the brakes or use aftermarket pedals and slide the gas pedal toward the brake pedal

I wear size 11 and I am fine doing this in almost any car. You really just have to get used to the motions. In my s13 to make room for my knees ( I am 6’2" ) I put an aftermarket hub with quick release on. This brought the wheel closer to me making it nicer to drive and allowed for easy heel toe.

I find that I either brake too hard or don’t give enough gas, I can’t find the balance for city driving… I know in race situations, you probably need to judge each shift by the RPM your at and the speed your at.

my issue now is my brake pedal is too sensitive after doing the z32 brakes. just a light tap and your locking em up. i cant heel and toe at all anymore. going to play around with the pedal adjustment when spring rolls around, maybe swap masters
