heel-toeing is fun. there are a few ways to do it…whatever way works best for you an your car is up to you. for me, it depends on how the pedals are spaced. whether theyre real close and inline or farther apart and staggered.
^ this is how ive always done it.

funny how “heel-toe” isnt actaully heel-toe lol
in my case its called “12EE” or “wide ass foot” shifting
i’ve honestly never tried it. I know of the theory but thats about it. Maybe because I don’t downshift going straight. I = FAIL
go to the gym and work on that. fggt
I hate being OG sometimes. LOL
But, YES … I heel toe my MANUAL now. I’m moving up.
It’ll depend on the car and its set up.
Personally I prefer the hinged gas pedal for it, it is easier for my big ass foot.
Same here. I revmatch constantly. It seems like its almost hard not to.
Dan
I roll my foot over. pedals are close enough to do so or my feet are wide. one of the two.
I don’t get it. I only upshift during burnouts.
My car is deffnitely not designed for it lol, i think people usually make custom brackets to change the distance to allow for it(f-bodys), i basically hit the brake, lift off the brake rev, then let out clutch, hit the brake again.
I used to all the time with the Fiero. With the GTO the pedals are horribly set up for it (between the hinged throttle pedal, bad spacing and difference in height) so not nearly as much. A project this summer is modifying the pedals to make it easier.
it’s not a preference based activity to do a proper heel toe. You always need to get your foot firmly on the brake pedal and then pivot your heel however is needed to hit the gas. Getting the brake firmly, safely, and without the risk of your toe slipping off is the high priority. It probably doesn’t matter so much on the street, but at the glen with armco all around you it’s srs bsns.
I’ve also found the people who can heel toe on the street often have to relearn when going full force into a turn at a track day because they don’t trust themselves (which is often wise)

I definitely think I would have to re-learn
on the street, I there is plenty of time to setup, and braking is usually not a ‘full-force’ kind of thing.
You guys NEVER do it on the street? I wouldn’t do it at every corner during casual driving, but when I am driving aggressively I definitely do.
+2 for Clean Baldy
heel toe only really matters/helps when you’re threshold braking (braking as much as possible without slip), otherwise you might as well be lazy and just rev match then go back to the brake post-downshift. <– this is what I do on the street 90% of the time unless I’m driving aggressively.
Granny shifting, not double clutching like you should :nono:
that is true, but it feels so much more controlled when you heel-toe it.
