anybody happen to have a 12x1.25 HeliCoil kit? I’ve checked out a couple of places and they go for upto $200. but most thread repair kits come with at least 6 or more helicoils… i only need one.
Talk to a shop that repairs heads and blocks.
They will do the whole heli-coil setup including installation for $40.
can anyone recommend any places in Barrie?
only problem is that i can’t drive my car with an oil leak.
it’s the SR turbo oil feed line bolt that won’t thread into the block.
i tried using lock-tite but the hole needs to be tapped and a helicoil installed.
I got my helicoil kit from Napa for around $60-$70 I think.
ok… so my car is still not drivable .
a couple of places here in Barrie said in order to do the job i would have to pull the motor out for them… i don’t really feel like doing that, so i was hoping some one could recommend a shop that might be able to repair (drill/tap) the block without pulling it.
i don’t mind towing the car to someone who can guarantee the job will get done right.
i appreciate any help as i am completely stumped on this one. :-k
^^^ If it’s the oil lines you have to unfortunatly pull the motor to get it taped.
That’s what happens when you drive a car with a motor made of popcans.
