I was looking at the site for SCC today and I noticed that they only require a D.O.T. Helmet. Would a motorcycle helmet fall under this?
Most motorbike helmets are DOT approved, some arent. In other words you have to look at the helmet for the DOT sticker.
Cool, simple enough. I have a couple different ones at home and I’m sure some of them are DOT approved.
yeah just look at the back of the helmet. it will have the d.o.t approved badge on it
If it turns out you dont have one, and you decide to buy one, get one that is DOT approved and one that is Snell approved as well. That way, you can race at the NECC track days as well.
if i remember correctly alberta cycle and echo cycle had $100 helmets that were dot snell approved. sometimes they were on sale for 50
