Helmet Suggestions for road race course/Beaverun

I’m looking to participate in the first flat out friday at Beaverun this year, and hopefully many more throughout the summer.

Do you guys have any suggestions on a helmet that is both legal on their track and at a good value? I’m not looking to spend a fortune on one, but I do want something that is going to protect my noggen if I hit a wall.

Thanks!

Man I’m on a roll today, anyways just by going off beavers website…

Snell SA-rated helmets (2000 or newer) are required. Must have Snell sticker affixed to inside of helmet. DOT motorcycle helmets are not acceptable. Don’t spend a bundle on your car and only a few bucks protecting your head. A limited number of rental helmets are available.

Currently I have a Pyrotech (which is basically a Bell Helmet). Its ok but I’ve seen better in that price range. Comfy on my head, just a little cheaply put together in spots (like the moldings around the edges seem like they used cheap glue on them). That said all helmets have to pass the same saftey test in order to get a rating. So its not like a cheap helmet is not going to protect your head the same as a expensive one. Your paying for things like lighter weight, build quality, features, etc.

I just bought this one last week:

It seems like a good one for the $$$.

Hopefully I don’t do any testing !

any more suggestions? Looking to spend right around $300

check out apexperformance.net, safedrives.com, and saferacer.com
tegSimple and I have the same HJC, roughly 300 and it is very nice.

Also check out Pyrotect, OMP, Bell, and HJC. $300 will get you a nice helmet for sure.

I

do a search we discuss this about twice a year. Right now I have the G Force full face helmet.

I use a AGV painted by T70TSI

^ he does nice work!

The G-Force helmets are a good value for the money. I’d stick with an SA2005 model.

if you’re just going to the track once, just borrow one of their helmets. don’t buy a helmet unless you plan on racing your car on a regular basis.

as dyingwish said a couple of posts up, i have an HJC AR10:
