I have just changed the alternator on my 1996 Maxima. The other day my handbrake light came on. turned the car off and back on it was gone. Next day it came back on with the battery light, and the car died. I changed the battery and now it’s running fine but THE LIGHTS STILL ON.
If you got a rebuilt altenator, it means the coils in it were not properly built, so your battery is going to die again, but get your altenator re-checked, ASAP.
If not, then its propbably just that you may need to reboot your computer by doing a diagnostic and clearing the error codes.
