help me: trying to get into painting

i am trying to get into doing some automotive painting, i am sick of can paint and want to try my luck and see if i can gain some skill with air brushing, i am looking at what types of guns and specifics i would need to get started. i have been told that i need a gun for door jams and small places, a gun for primer because it is thicker and a gun for normal paint and clear. i am looking for feedback on what specifics to look for in terms of c.f.m rate and psi. i have also been told i want to get high velocity low pressure for best results. also any tips from experienced painters would be great on prep and painting techniques, i would love to get some hands on teaching if someone would like to take me under their wing (be like and aprentice) i can work for free lessons or make some possible trades. thanks for reading and i hope someone can help me.

I learned by hanging out at a shop. NO pay but the experience itself will pay in the end.

best way is to learn by watching and experience… body work/painting is not something that can easily be learned… i consider it an art

good luck

If you are not able to work at a shop, Go to the Library and see if they have any books . Read them. Apply what you have learned. Maybe go and get some old fenders etc. Practice makes perfect. My paint gets better everytime I do a new project

i practice all the time for 10 bucks an hour get a job at a dealer and hang out in the BS youll catch on quick

yea if u know someone…my friends is taking courses at ECC…its all experience and touch

Do you know what campus? I was also interested in taking a class at ECC.

I only like touching one certain kind of body and that my friends would be a females body…oh ya and i can do body work
