Help! SR20DET Turbo Manifold

if anyone wants a sexy sr20det manifold, made in japan, that has those sexy flat welds within the tubes let me know…its identical to the hks and greddy style and it may even be one of them, its hard to tell cuz those manifolds are not labelled…i have one here at home in awesome shape that i will sell for 400 bucks…
its t25 flange, stock turbo location…really sexy…
pm me or call anytime…

no i can’t run a business like that … even at $1000 can your looking at 95% of that cost being fabrication/materials and welding time costs… don’t know where you get this business model from , but it’s not real.

making one off’s of quality is more expensive then 5-10 offs. for example, for SS flanges i need to spend the time making the CNC drawing , then I need to get it cut, the BASIC fee for laser or water is $125 setup for each flnage + an avg of .25/min for cutting. this equates to $350 - 400 for 4 flanges depending on cut speed ( quality suffers ) … mandrel bends, you buy 20ft of stailess at $18/ft +100 delivery fee, you end up loosing 8ft of that to calibration in bending, then you have another $150 setup fee for ONE specific radius of bends each bend is then ~ $80/per . and you may get 6 total bends out of the whole length do to the lenght of the clamp off.

this of course is not including time to cut/fabricate/weld and possibly polish… nor is it taking into accout the time to fit the product to the car and keep each one equal or as close to equal as possible…

for me to make even a minimal profit, ( enough to cover time and electrical/gas on TIG ) a header like the one mounted to the head would be close to $1200-$1500… This is why the Megan is such a good deal anyone i’ve talked to that does fab/welding has no clue, even with the mild flanges, how they can sell them so cheap… my feeling is they are farmed out to China and shipped over en mass. Like most products bought by 90% of the buying market in Canada. Canadian made products really are expensive becuse the cost to run fabrication in canada is only setup for large volumes. small volume job lots either don’t get looked ator are charged through the roof. another reason why most HKS and Greddy… ect. headers are cast… simply too expensive to make a price pointed tube header.

what your asking me to do is commit business sepuku…

i recently saw a pic of a stock location manifold from dcsports, I can’t recall what magazine it was from but to my untrained eye, it looked nice.
Their website says it’s not yet available but it is 500usd, they also have a dyno plot showing hp and tq.

steve, this is a picture of the DCsports manifold

i took this pic at the JGTC

also keep in mind that Vibrant has a new manifold coming out that is said to be equal length as well.

it will be available for $700 retail and arounf $600 CDN through a group buy on here.

vibrant makes exhuast products out of a facility in ontario that are rebadged under names such as JIC, among others.

moved to tech,

I have Vibrant on my Civic. I don’t think you can beat it at it’s price point. Would be interested to see a Vibrant piece.

i believe the DC Sports is now available. It is on my DC Sports price list for
498.75US list price. I will give any SON member jobbers price at 20% off.
