Help with my IBOOK!!!

Last night my laptop was working fine, and I go to turn it on this morning and It won’t turn on.

I tryed charging it and nothing… I held down the power button…nothing?!

Any help or suggestions?

pull the battery, hold down the power button for 10 seconds or so. Plug in and let charge for 5 minutes. Press power button.

I tried and still nothing.

when you plug the charger in, does the green light come on?(on th plug)

YEah.
It’s deffintly charging. It wasn’t even close to being dead when I put it away last night

Shouldn’t this problem fix itself? After all, it’s a Mac and they have the best design engineers on the planet and all. Macs never break.

Since you didn’t say exactly which ibook you have I’m going to be very general. Just work down the list. Post what happens after you try each step. Assuming you’ve verified (I don’t think you did) that the battery isn’t faulty and the power supply isn’t faulty:

  1. Remove the battery, try starting it without the battery

  2. Press the Cap Locks key, see if the light comes on. If it does, hold the power button down for 6 seconds to shutdown/restart the computer

  3. Reset the power manager by pressing Control-Option-Shift-Power

DO NOT HOLD DOWN THE FN KEY WHEN YOU DO THIS .

  1. Reset PRAM by pressing power button then olding Option-command-p-r keys until you hear the startup chime at least one additional time after the initial startup chime.

If you get passed all these steps and it doesn’t work, you are looking at hardware replacement from here on out. Anything from a keyboard to your DC power controller to a logic board, and none of it will be cheap.

my ibook is having this same exact issue right now. i’m getting a new battery and logic board covered under my apple care. amen.

Danm, nothing works…I think my apple plan thing just expired too…gayy
