Aren’t there any more worthwhile mods to do besides sending a hood overseas and waiting months for it to come in just to save 10 pounds and have an unmatched hood?

not many that i haven’t already done.
plus it was free for me & got me a wholesale deal with the company…just a pain dealing with all the people.
and i wanted something to make it look different from 95% of the other contours/SVTs…same reason i had the rear painted.

exactly. grand ams might be nice cars for everyday rides, but why do people mod them? no offense man.
thats what i dont understand about most of the ricer cars i see driving around. why do people try to mod cars that arent meant to be modded?
why wouldnt you wanna start with something resonably fast, and then mod it?

well heres my reason. my grand am is what i have this moment. i cant afford the insurance or the car payment on the car i want so until then all i have is my grand am.

Well I didn’t know there was a special list of cars that are allowed to be modded and ones that aren’t, I mean take a Honda civic, there’s a huge aftermarket for it, and people mod those. So what is wrong with a grand am. I mean Olds developed the quad 4 for racing, the achivea SCX (nbody just like a GA) was built with a 190hp quad for in 92-93 just so it could compete in show room stock classes.
And about the CF hood I’ve tried a few times to get VIS and other companies to make a CF hood, but cant find the people, they say they will buy one but when it comes time to throw the money down its a different story. And the reason the only hood for the 96-98 GA is so much is b/c its all hand made, and AED is expensive anyways, there bodykit cost close to 2 grand.
