Heres a reason to not drink and drive (Hit and run) (Corasanti trial)

No, it would not.

Fair enough… It would stop most though.
I remember reading an article (in about 2008) that said EVERY Toyota car would have a built in breathalyzer ignition by 2010.

True, nothing can fully eradicate DWI but serious punishment would surely do more than a measly fine. The civil suit will be interesting because that’s probably the only way to hurt a selfish, pompous ass like this guy. Now watch his assets magically show up in his wife’s name or his biz name. Lightning will strike twice here is my prediction.

No matter the consequence, some people will never be deterred. Does the death penalty prevent such punishable crimes from occurring?

Edit: Also, on the same note, does driving with a BAC of .08 automatically sentence one to jail time? I personally think not.

I’ve said it before, and I know there are people who will say it’s extreme, but if you truly got the death penalty for killing someone as a result of DWI it wouldn’t take long to see the numbers drop. If you actually thought you might lose your own life by making that mistake, would you get behind the wheel if there was even a chance it could go wrong?

It’s hard to believe that he’d have a party at his house, considering everyone knows where he lives…

Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet! Set an example, set it quick and set it hardcore. Sucks for the first few, perhaps. For the future offenders they will surely know the deal.

“Wow that pothole was kinda big. Guess I better get home and call my lawyer errr I mean mechanic first thing. Meh…I think I’ll just shoot him a text since I’m so good at it.”

This was a friggin big & solid BMW no less, not a Kia (no offense to Kia owners  ).

Fuck this shit.

looks like its now ok to drink drive and run people over.

Welcome to new york… where along with shitty weather and the highest taxes, you can also rest assured that if your child is hit and killed on the shoulder of the road by a drunk selfish inhumane scumbag piece of shit who is too much of a coward to not flee the scene, they will get off with a slap on the wrist and justice will not be served. How the fuck do these assholes live with themselves?

my mind is blown, I seriously contemplate bringing children into this sick twisted self destructive fucked up world on days like this.

the fact that they proved he was drunk and gave him a dwi, and that he hit and killed the girl and took off and then tampered with evidence should have a minimum jail sentence of those three things combined. How this dude gets off scott free blows my fucking mind. he had to of paid off some serious people, that is the only way

I’m so pissed right now due to this. IN such a bad mood.

With the way the court system is going, Corasanti might as well sue Alex Rice’s family for mental anguish and defimation. Un-fucking-believable

agreed. Hell the drunk bitch that killed my cousin in the fall got 2-7 and they couldnt even prove she was drunk!

Ugh :frowning:

This would not even surprise me.

Look for him to sue his former employer as well.

Question for all of you so sure he knew he hit a person at the time of the impact…

Why does the wife go back to the scene and immediately go home after she see’s the ambulance and police cars if they where in the garage trying to cover up evidence as the prosecution wanted the jury to believe? Why was it only after she came back and reported the ambulance at the scene that Coresanti freaks out and goes running from the house if he knew all along he hit a person?

Regardless of anything said, this guy just got away with a murder. Dont care what anyone says against this. This guy just walked away with blood on his hands and being free. I hope he rots in hell. I hope he flips his car and breaks his neck all to sit around the rest of his life a vegetable. Heartless, fine… Not like this guy gave a fuck when his lawyers defended him with disrespecting the girl killed.

Meehhh, I still stand by the fact that shes just as much to blame for her death as he is. If it wasnt Corasanti it could have been just as likely to be and old man with bad eyesight or a teenage girl looking down at a text for a split second. Point of the matter is if she hadnt put herself in the wrong place this would have never happend. You dont skateboard 3 feet into the street, away from traffic while high, in dark clothes, on a poorly lit corner.

How he got off on the leaving the scene charges however, is pretty questionable.

You cannot apply logic to the mind of a self centered sociopath, it does not compute. Do you feel he went “running from the house” out of remorse or because he feared the consequence he might face for his actions?

I agree she was in the wrong, she paid dearly for her mistake & misjudgement of risk. He was also in the wrong and he isn’t paying nor does he seem to feel bad about the issue. That’s the part that makes me livid…he got off without punishment and seemingly without remorse when he was at minimum 50% to blame.

Some of the comments here are the very reason we have the system that we do instead of mob-rule.
