Hicas Light On

My Hicas light came on after I was parked during work. It was pissing rain for a few hours, if that matters…

The light stays on after I start the engine, I added ATF to the reservoir, it remains on. A few times though, the light went away after starting, only to come back later.

I don’t wanna hear about blocking HICAS to be a “mad tyte drifter”. I’ve looked up several threads and most people just refer to lock bars instead of helping.

I think it might be a leak, but then again, the level was just below the minimum line before I added more ATF. It remained on however (the light).

Thanks in advance.

Btw, this is a 1993 240SX FB, which had a 5 spd. swap done to it 2 weeks ago. This HICAS light had never come on before that. Could anything during the swap have caused this?

first off check the for leaks, Hicas can be triggered by lack of fluid. From there check for loose connections with the steering. I wish i could tell you more.

reason everyone refers to blocking hicas is not becuase you can be a “mad tyte drifter” its because hicas problems are extremely difficult to diagnos.
ive had friends who brought there car to the Nissan dealership to fix the hicas problem and when all was done he got a bill for 7 hours labour and still no answers.

Now im sure this has something to do with your swap, it sounds like a loose connection but i wouldnt be able to tell you without seeing the car.
