HID ballast positioning question

hey guys, ok I installed the HIDs from my s13 to my s14 today…the driver’s side wasnt a problem since there is enough space between the shock tower and the stock intake to leave the ballast…the passenger side however is another story…I guess i should buy a small battery…but until my current battery craps out i dont feel the need to purchase it lol…anyway, I wrapped the ballast in a small towel and placed it on top of the battery since that was the only spot that had some space…is this safe to leave it there?

if the ballast(wrapped in towel) touches one of the terminals, is it still ok? since the actual ballast itself is not touching the battery or the positive/negative terminals?

I wouldnt let it touch anything. I think the outer shell of the unit may be grounded…so it it touches the pos coming off the battery its going to go crazy.

Can you not remove the battery and tuck it on the inside of the front/PS fender right beside the battery…i swear theres enuff room in there for an ballast.

hey yea…I never thought of doing that…thx ill try that…
