Went out PRP for a few runs. Its great paying $100 before you even get there. Got snaged by a undercover state trooper. Saw that I didn’t have inspection stickers and nailed me. Got off with a non moving violation and it will probably total up to around $100 bucks.
I finally make it to the track. I got a total of 4 runs. I goofed all 4 starts and my best 60ft. was a 2.163. It seemed like I was getting more than enough traction, I was just being to agressive and bogged out after the tires would bite.
Im really jerk’d off that I didn’t get out of the 13’s. I dont have many performance mods but it seems the top end is there, but I really need to get a good launch to put down a good time.
practice makes perfect. With those traps and that 60’ 12s is definately possible. Best I ever ran at the track was 13.7 w/ the Talon, even though it was way faster than that.
Yea, I really thought I was gonna hit the high 12’s today. I had the nittos down to around 22psi, and my shifts seemed to be as fast as I could get em. I noticed that I would break the tires loose after every 1-2 shift. I probably could of warmed the tires up a bit more and took the psi down a few to help that out.
As for my launch, I think I need to ride the clutch a little more rather than dump it at like 2,500-2,800rpm like I was doing.
you probably wont’ sneak a 12 with those traps…the quicker you get off the line the lower your traps will be…if you nailed like a 1.6 60 you MIGHT see a 12.999…u really dont’ have the 1/8 or the 1k foot increases to see a 12
Eehh, you sure? Im dropping the clutch to fast and the car is bogging down. I think if I slip it and keep the rpms up around 3k I should see a high 12. A 108mph should be able to net a high 12, shouldn’t it?
Either way, maybe I’ll go next tuesday and try again. If I get inspected before then, speaking of, anyone “know” someone that can “help” me get inspected? I’ll pass the OBDII test, but Im short 2 pieces of pussy under the car if you catch my drift.
